Rock 102’s Pay for Play Raises $16,630 for the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre

Rock 102’s 2018 Pay for Play campaign raised over $16,500 for Rock 102’s Stuff the Bus for the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre.

From 6 am to 6 pm on Friday, December 7, Rock 102 listeners could call in and request any song to be played on Rock 102 with a donation to Rock 102’s Stuff the Bus. Rock 102 Jocks had fun bartering on calls to play songs outside the normal Rock format – the crazier the request, the more it cost.

By the end of the day, over 100 songs were played, including “A Friend Like Me,” from the Toy Story soundtrack, “The Fresh Prince of Belair Theme Song,” and “Tequila” by The Champs. Every dollar collected was matched by Nutrien and goes to Rock 102’s Stuff the Bus campaign for the Saskatoon Food Bank taking place on Thursday, December 13 at Saskatoon Co-op at The Centre Mall from 6 am to 6 pm.

Rock 102 Hosts, Gary and Shack, said: “We’ll play anything! Seriously… anything… for a price! What a fun day we had, and all for a great cause! Our Rock 102 listeners are the best!
