Saskatchewan Generosity Helps C95 Radio Marathon Surpass $8 Million
The 27th Annual C95 Radio Marathon for Breast Cancer Research raised a record-breaking $628,427 for the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan during Wednesday’s 12-hour live broadcast in Saskatoon, bringing the total raised since
it began to $8,097,066.
Among the stories shared during the broadcast was that of Kennedy Lynn, who was diagnosed with breast in May
2026 at just 30 years old. She shared her experience of navigating a breast cancer diagnosis while raising her young
son, who was just over a year old when she received the news.
“I found the lump a week after my son’s first birthday. I wasn’t ever the type to go to the doctor, I used to think it
would just go away. But having a son changed that for me. Being diagnosed at 30 shows that cancer doesn’t care
how old you are, and getting checked can save your life.” Kennedy is grateful for the impacts of breast cancer
research, “I consider myself fortunate that all the new research and advances are helping me through this fight.”
Kennedy continues to undergo active treatment with chemotherapy and immunotherapy. She is scheduled for a
lumpectomy on November 17, 2026, followed by radiation.
“It’s incredible to see our listeners and community come together year after year to support local breast cancer
research,” said Shauna Foster, C95 Morning Show host. “Hearing their heartfelt stories and reflecting and reflecting
on the impact breast cancer has on individuals and families remind us exactly why this work matters.”
The C95 Radio Marathon raises funds for the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan in support of local breast cancer
research projects through the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. The community’s donations help advance research in
Saskatchewan, contributing to better treatment options and improved outcomes for those affected by breast cancer.
“Thank you to C95 and the incredible donors who made this year’s radio marathon such an amazing success,” said
Nora Yeates, CEO of the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan. “Every donation counts, making a real difference in the
lives of women and families affected by breast cancer right here at home.”
Since it began in 2000, the C95 Radio Marathon for Breast Cancer Research has raised more than $8 million for
breast cancer research in Saskatchewan, helping support local research and improve outcomes for those affected by
breast cancer.
The Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan is the fundraising partner of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. Every dollar
raised by the Foundation is dedicated to funding innovative research, early detection, and screening programs, as
well as providing support for patients and families facing cancer in the province. By keeping funds local, the
Foundation ensures that contributions directly benefit Saskatchewan residents in meaningful ways.
