33rd Annual Z99 Radiothon Raises $297,035 for babies needing Regina’s NICU

On March 19th & 20th Z99 hosts CC and Lorie were to hit the airwaves for 35 hours, sharing stories of heartbreak and triumph, to help save babies’ lives by raising funds for the NICU at the Regina General Hospital through the Hospitals of Regina Foundation. However, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the event was postponed.

Thanks to unwavering support from so many generous people in southern Saskatchewan, Z99 hosted the 33rd Z99 Radiothon on September 25th from 6am to 6pm. In just 12 hours the 33rd Z99 Radiothon raised $297,035 for Hospitals of Regina Foundation in support of the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Regina General Hospital. To date, the Z99 Radiothon has now raised more than $10.30 million for vulnerable babies.

The NICU is located in the Rawlco Centre for Mother Baby Care at the Regina General Hospital. Each year, around 500 babies from 24 to 42 weeks old require care in the unit. The NICU, which also includes the special care nursery for babies who require less intensive care, has capacity for 29 babies. On average, 21 babies a day require care in the unit.
