Reporter – 980 CJME – Regina
You’re a journalist or aspiring journalist and you want to build a career with a company where you can grow. You believe in the power of great story telling, great writing and creative use of sound.
650 CKOM Saskatoon and 980 CJME Regina have the largest independent newsrooms in the province. Rawlco Radio is Saskatchewan’s leading radio company with seven stations in Regina and Saskatoon. We are committed to local coverage, seven days a week on air and online.
We are looking for news people with a passion for reporting. Passion to find stories, tell people’s stories, cover breaking news and local issues.
Ideally you have a couple of year’s experience and are looking for new challenges. This position will also involve website editing, so familiarity with CP Style is an asset.
Qualifications
- Excellent written communication abilities, including News Writing and Writing, with a clear, concise, and audience-focused style.
- Experience adapting content for multiple platforms.
- Post-secondary education in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with on-air presentation, interviewing, and working to tight deadlines in a busy newsroom environment.
- Familiarity with broadcast and digital news production tools, and an understanding of media ethics and legal considerations.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of local and regional issues in Saskatchewan and a valid driver’s license for field reporting are considered assets.
